Theraband Standing Rows
Theraband Rows are a beginners strengthening exercise for the muscles of the rear shoulders and upper back. The movement is beneficial for individuals with lower back pain or those with coordination or muscle tightness which prevents them from performing a bent over row or reverse fly movement. The theraband row strengthens the muscles that draw the shoulder blades back. Holding the contracted (hands to chest) position will help strengthen the rhomboids and the middle and lower trapezius muscles. The resistance in the theraband can be easily adjusted by moving further away or by adding extra resistance bands
The exercise can similary be performed in a seated position on a swiss ball or exercise bench
Exercise Technique Tips - Theraband Rows
Keep shoulders relaxed and low through out the movement
Lean back and bend your knees to create a stable point of balance
Perform the movement slowly holding the contracted (hands by chest) position briefly
