Exercise and Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 Diabetes is a lifestyle disease effecting an estimated 285 million people world wide. The disease is on the rise due to rising levels of obesity and declining activity levels. In Type 2 Diabetes blood glucose fails to effectively enter the liver and muscle tissue. The result is dangerously high sugar levels, and resultant health complications. Exercise, both resistance and cardiovascular has been shown to help with prevention and treatment of the disease. Obesity is the largest contributor factor to Diabetes. Diets or exercise interventions which produce body fat reductions provide the greatest benefits to patients. More
