Daily Energy Requirement Calculator

This calculator uses your waist girth and body weight to estimate body fat percentage and lean muscle mass. These numbers are then used to calculate basic metabolic rate or BMR. BMR is the amount of energy your body consumes to stay alive. For a 80kg male this will be approximately 8500kj's. For a female of weight 65kg's BMR will be approximately 6750kj's.

Occupational Energy Expenditure is then calculated based on your hours worked and the average activity level of the occupation.

Exercise Energy Expenditure is then added to this value. These values are calculated using your current fitness level, the intensity of the activity and time spent performing the activity.

Finally lifestyle activity energy expenditure is added. This is the estimated energy expenditure value of activities outside of your occupation and formal exercise

The calculator can be used to create weight loss goals and recommended daily energy intakes. To achieve this complete the right hand yellow cells with a goal weight and time frame to achieve this weight

Note the calculator is as accurate as possible with the information given. The values entered are generally subjective therefore the results could vary depending on an individuals perceived exercise intensity or activity level.
